Year In Review 2017: Community Outreach

Community Fabric

In 2017, our coffeehouses supported over 700 neighbourhood organizations with over 950 donations, including our fairly traded and organic coffees and teas, and in-kind donations.

While there are a number of initiatives we are extremely proud of supporting throughout the year, we've added a few below that really highlighted the power of community and the diversity of events that makes Ottawa so special.

Friends of the Earth ~ #BeeCause

BeeCause

August 2017

In August, we partnered with Friend’s of the Earth for their #BeeCause campaign. Our coffeehouses collected $1.00 donations on behalf of FOE in an effort to raise funds for sustaining and growing the bee population, and specifically (in our case) the Ottawa region. http://foecanada.org/en/issues/the-bee-cause/.

Ottawa International Writers Festival

Ottawa International Writers Festival

April 2017, October 2017

In both April and October, we partnered with the Ottawa International Writers Festival. We like to celebrate Ottawa's diverse community of writers and artists, and help to support and promote these talents. We were able to do so with caterings of coffee, and baked goods. You can follow www.writersfestival.org to keep up to date with the latest festival news and events.

CBC's Project Give with Ottawa Food Bank

CBC's Project Give

December 2017

The reFresh Program of the Ottawa Food Bank provides fresh produce to their community food bank network during the winter months. We partnered with CBC’s Project Give to raise money in early December and were able to raise over $5100 over a weekend thanks to the generosity of customers. If you missed this opportunity and would still like to give, please visit www.ottawafoodbank.ca/donate/.

Interested in partnering with us? Submit our community support form and we'd be happy to discuss.
